It has a loud punch and responds very well, tonally. There is some player wear tot he top, but nothing too major. It has an exceptional tone, perfect action and easy playability. It looks, sounds, feels and lays like a Martin to me. The guitar has a look that automatically makes you think "Martin D-45!" The specs are basically identical, except this would be a pre-1969 D-45 because of the Brazilian rosewood. Kazuo Yairi recently died and his guitars are world-renowned for their superior craftsmanship, components and playability. The guitar was originally sold in Harlan, Kentucky (see the store sticker in the soundhole). It has some of the most impressive Brazilian Rosewood back and sides that I've ever seen! Here is an exceptionally rare Alvarez Yairi flat-top from the mid-1970's.
